While sitting in that room, I felt two things at the same time:
disappointment… and awakening.
Disappointment, because I knew I hadn’t shown up as the woman I had been for decades.
Awakening, because I realized God was revealing a version of me that needed to grow next.
Outgrowing the “old you” happens quietly.
Rebuilding the “new you” happens intentionally.
Florida exposed a truth I could no longer hide from:
My gift was real, but my confidence belonged to the past.
It was time to build a voice that could stand in any room—not just familiar ones.
When Self-Doubt Becomes Louder Than Your Gift
Leaving that workshop, I felt embarrassed.
And to make matters worse, I had upgraded to the VIP package—hoping it would give me access to deeper conversations with other VIP members and industry experts like Pat Quinn and Hope Zvara. But even in that intimate, private meeting…I still said nothing.
That’s when reality struck:
I had spoken on many stages, but never on that kind of stage— A diverse room. A high-performance environment. A space without cultural familiarity. A room not shaped around my comfort, my community, or my natural confidence.
The truth?
I wasn’t just facing a new stage. I was facing a new version of myself—one God was calling me to grow into, whether I felt ready or not.
And as I walked up to my hotel room after the private meeting, the voices grew louder:
“You don’t belong here.”
“Your gift only works at home.”
“You’re not ready for this level.”
There is something deeply humbling about meeting a version of yourself who suddenly feels small. But something in me refused to let that be the end of my story.
I didn’t want to be bold only in rooms where people already knew my name, my background, my style, or my story.
I wanted to become the kind of woman who could speak to any woman— from any country, any background, any community, any room.
A woman whose voice carried purpose, not just familiarity.
So instead of shrinking, I chose to rise.
Note: Self-doubt will always try to drag you back into the shadows—especially when you are on the edge of expansion.
The Decision That Changed My Voice
One month later, I boarded a plane to Wisconsin to train under Pat Quinn—one of America’s top speaking and presentation coaches—alongside other leading coaches.
I didn’t go because I had failed. I went because I had awakened.
I wanted to understand communication at a global level.
I wanted to learn how to speak with impact across cultures and environments.
I wanted to become a voice—not just in African or immigrant spaces or church circles— but a voice for every woman who has ever wanted to:
Be Known. Be You. Be Free.
Walking into that training, I was still nervous.
But I wasn’t the quiet woman in the front row anymore.
I was a woman who had decided to grow—on purpose.
And something powerful happened:
Every time I raised my hand, every time I participated, every time I stood up to speak, I wasn’t proving that I could do it – I was becoming the woman who could.
And that is when I shifted from hidden to heard.
Not the old voice—the comfortable one, the familiar one.
But a new voice—stronger, steadier, more grounded, more aligned with calling than comfort.
Another truth?
You cannot be heard where you are afraid to speak.
The Shift From Hidden to Heard
Here’s what I discovered:
Self-doubt doesn’t disappear because you’re gifted.
It disappears because you keep showing up.
Over and over. Room after room. Stage after stage. Level after level.
Your voice becomes stronger—not when you feel confident— but when you practice courage.
And somewhere between Florida and Wisconsin, between shrinking and rising, between silence and speaking…I found my voice again.
Not the voice shaped by comfort, but the voice shaped by calling.
This Is What Be3Life Is All About
It’s not just a movement.
It’s not just a message.
It’s the journey from hidden to heard— from who you used to be to who you are becoming.
If you’ve ever felt yourself shrink in a new room, question your worth, doubt your voice, feel stuck or unfulfilled…
You are not alone.
And you are not behind. You are simply becoming, and becoming is holy work.
